As part of its CSR approach, the JMI Group has launched a collective initiative dedicated to responsible digital technology: the Digital Cleanup Week. This internal action aims to raise employees’ awareness of the environmental impact of digital technology while encouraging simple and concrete actions on a daily basis.

Why organize a Digital Cleanup?
Digital technology now plays a central role in our professional activities, but it also accounts for an increasing share of greenhouse gas emissions.
As the ADEME points out, digital technology accounts for about 4% of global emissions, a figure that is constantly increasing. Data storage, sending emails, use of software: each action has an energy impact.
The Digital Cleanup Week fits into this reality by proposing a simple answer: reduce the volume of unnecessary data to limit our digital footprint.
A week of concrete and accessible actions
The principle is deliberately simple and accessible to everyone: devote a few minutes a day to cleaning up your digital environment.
In the program:
- Sorting and deleting unnecessary files
- Organizing Folders on Servers
- Cleaning Mailboxes
- Uninstalling unused software
- Emptying the baskets
Each employee is supported by practical guides adapted to their entity, facilitating the implementation of best practices.
Raising awareness about responsible digital technology
Beyond the cleaning actions, the Digital Cleanup Week also incorporates a strong educational dimension.
An awareness quiz allows employees to better understand:
- The environmental impact of digital technology
- The issues related to data storage
- Good practices to adopt on a daily basis
Informative content is also shared throughout the week, highlighting key figures and global issues. For example, digital technology mobilizes nearly 10% of global electricity production, as shown by the work of ARCEP and ADEME.
A dual objective: performance and responsibility
This initiative addresses a dual challenge for the JMI Group:
- Optimize internal resources: free up server space and improve equipment performance
- Reduce environmental impact: limit energy consumption related to storage and extend the lifespan of infrastructure
By adopting more sober practices, everyone contributes to a more efficient and sustainable use of digital tools.
Collective mobilization
The Digital Cleanup Week is based on a collective dynamic, where each individual action contributes to a common goal. By involving all employees, the JMI Group strengthens its corporate culture around environmental responsibility and commitment.
This participatory approach makes it possible to sustainably anchor new habits and make responsible digital technology a daily reflex.

With the Digital Cleanup Week, the JMI Group demonstrates that it is possible to take concrete action to reduce the environmental impact of digital technology, while improving the efficiency of work tools.
This initiative is fully in line with a global CSR approach, aiming to raise awareness, mobilize and support employees towards more sustainable practices.
